What to Expect on Event Day: The Full Bouncey House Rentals Experience from Delivery to Takedown

What to expect on event day from Bouncey House Rentals Sacramento showing delivery, setup, and takedown process

You booked your rental. Your event is coming up. Now what? If this is your first time renting from Bouncey House Rentals, or your first time renting inflatables at all, this guide walks you through exactly what happens from the moment you book to the moment our crew drives away after takedown. No surprises, no guesswork, and no stress on your end. We have been doing this across the Greater Sacramento Area since 2008, and the process is the same whether you are renting a single bounce house for a backyard birthday or ten attractions for a corporate festival.

Every rental includes delivery, professional setup, a safety walkthrough with you or your designated event supervisor, and takedown at the end of your rental period. Here is how each step works.

What happens when a bounce house rental is delivered?

The Bouncey House Rentals crew arrives during your scheduled delivery window, unloads the equipment, positions it in your designated setup area, inflates the unit, and anchors it securely with ground stakes (grass) or sandbags (hard surfaces). The crew then walks you or your event supervisor through the safety guidelines: how many riders at a time, age grouping, shoe removal, and emergency procedures. The entire setup process takes 15 to 30 minutes per unit. At the end of your rental period, the crew returns, deflates, packs, and removes all equipment. Every rental from Bouncey House Rentals across the Sacramento area includes this full-service delivery, setup, and takedown.

What This Guide Covers

The complete Bouncey House Rentals experience from booking to takedown: what happens after you book, how to prepare your setup area, what to expect during the delivery window, how our crew sets up and anchors equipment, the safety walkthrough process, your responsibilities during the rental period, how pickup and takedown works, and what happens if weather forces a cancellation.

Your Event Day Timeline

Step by Step: From Booking Confirmation to Takedown

1

After You Book: Confirmation and Details

Once you book online at bounceyhouserentals.com/order-by-date/ or over the phone, you receive a booking confirmation with your rental details: equipment list, event date, delivery window, and total price. If your venue requires a COI (schools, churches, parks, corporate venues), request it now and we will have it issued within 24 to 48 hours.

If you need to add or change attractions after booking, call (916) 548-7995. Changes are subject to availability. We recommend finalizing your order at least 2 weeks before your event.

2

1 to 2 Days Before: Prepare Your Setup Area

Clear the area where the inflatables will be placed. On grass: mow the lawn, remove pet waste, flag sprinkler heads, and clear toys, furniture, and debris. On concrete or asphalt: sweep the surface clean and clear vehicles from the area. Check that you have a standard 110V outdoor outlet within 100 feet of the setup spot (most inflatables need 1 to 2 outlets per unit).

If your event is at a Sacramento park, confirm your reservation is in place. If it is at a school or church, confirm that your COI has been submitted and approved. Read our bounce house safety guide for complete setup surface requirements.

3

Delivery Window: Our Crew Arrives

Our crew arrives during your scheduled delivery window with all equipment, blowers, extension cords, stakes or sandbags, and any accessories. We pull up, unload, and carry the equipment to your designated setup area. If the setup location needs adjustment (too close to a fence, tree branch overhead, sprinkler head underneath), our crew will suggest an alternative position before inflating.

The crew works quickly. A single bounce house takes about 15 minutes from truck to fully inflated and anchored. A multi-unit event with an obstacle course, bounce houses, and concessions takes 30 to 60 minutes depending on the number of attractions.

4

Setup: Inflation, Anchoring, and Safety Check

Each unit is unrolled, positioned on the setup surface, connected to its blower, and inflated. Once inflated, the crew anchors the unit securely: ground stakes driven into grass, or heavy-duty sandbags on concrete, asphalt, or other hard surfaces. The crew inspects the unit for proper inflation, checks all anchor points, and verifies the blower is running correctly.

For water slides, the crew connects the garden hose, verifies water flow, and checks drainage. For the rock climbing wall and mechanical bull, the included operator sets up the equipment and stays on-site for the full rental duration.

5

Safety Walkthrough: Before Your Guests Start

Before our crew leaves, they walk you (or your designated event supervisor) through the safety guidelines for each unit. This covers: maximum number of riders at one time, recommended age grouping, shoe removal rules, no food or drinks inside, no flips or roughhousing, and what to do if the blower stops or the unit starts to deflate. You will know exactly how to supervise each attraction safely.

For events with multiple units, the crew walks through each one individually. This walkthrough is standard on every delivery. Read our bounce house safety guide and water slide safety guide ahead of time so you are familiar with the rules before event day.

6

Your Rental Period: You Run the Event

Once the safety walkthrough is complete, the event is yours. Our crew leaves (except for attractions with included operators like the mechanical bull, trackless train, and rock climbing wall). You or your designated supervisors manage the attractions: enforcing rider limits, age grouping, shoe rules, and rotating guests on and off.

If anything goes wrong during your rental (blower issue, anchor loosening, weather concern), call (916) 548-7995 and we will troubleshoot over the phone or send a crew member if needed. Our phone line is open Monday through Sunday, 8:00 AM to 8:00 PM.

7

Pickup and Takedown: We Handle Everything

At the end of your scheduled rental period, our crew returns. They disconnect blowers, deflate each unit, remove all stakes or sandbags, roll and pack the equipment, and load it back onto the truck. No cleanup work for you. No equipment left behind. The crew leaves your setup area the way they found it.

The takedown process takes roughly the same amount of time as setup: 15 minutes for a single unit, 30 to 60 minutes for multi-unit events. Please have all riders off the equipment before the crew arrives for pickup.

What do I need to do before a bounce house is delivered?

Prepare a flat, clear setup area free of debris, pet waste, sharp objects, and low-hanging branches. On grass, mow the lawn and flag sprinkler heads. On concrete or asphalt, sweep the surface and clear vehicles. Ensure a standard 110V outlet is within 100 feet. For water slides, have a garden hose connected and ready. Designate 1 to 2 adults as inflatable supervisors for the event. The Bouncey House Rentals crew handles everything else: inflation, anchoring, safety walkthrough, and takedown.

Your Responsibilities During the Rental

What You Manage While the Equipment Is at Your Event

Supervise the Riders

At least one designated adult should be watching each inflatable at all times when riders are on it. Enforce the maximum rider count (covered in the safety walkthrough), age grouping (do not mix toddlers with older kids), and shoe removal. This is your responsibility during the rental period.

Manage Rotation and Lines

For parties with more guests than rider capacity, manage a rotation so everyone gets a turn. Timed intervals (10 to 15 minutes per group) work well for large events. For field days and carnivals, station-rotation systems keep lines short and throughput high.

Monitor Weather

If wind picks up significantly, rain starts, or lightning is visible, get all riders off the equipment immediately and call us at (916) 548-7995. Do not operate inflatables in high wind, rain, or thunderstorms. Our rain guarantee covers weather cancellations at no charge.

Keep the Blower Running

The blower must run continuously while the inflatable is in use. Do not unplug it or turn it off while riders are inside. If the blower stops unexpectedly, get all riders out immediately and call us. The unit will begin to deflate within seconds if the blower stops. Do not allow anyone to re-enter until the blower is running and the unit is fully re-inflated.

Weather and Rain Policy

What Happens If Weather Affects Your Sacramento Event

Before Delivery: Proactive Weather Monitoring

We monitor Sacramento weather leading up to your event. If conditions are clearly unsafe (sustained high winds, heavy rain forecast, or active storm warnings), we will contact your event coordinator before the scheduled delivery time to discuss options: proceed with delivery if conditions improve, or reschedule to another available date at no charge under our rain guarantee.

During Your Rental: Weather Changes

Sacramento weather can shift quickly, especially during spring and fall. If weather deteriorates during your rental period, stop using the equipment immediately and call us. Light drizzle on a bounce house makes the surface slippery. Wind gusts can affect anchoring. Lightning requires immediate evacuation from all outdoor equipment. Never operate inflatables in unsafe weather conditions.

Rain Guarantee

Bouncey House Rentals includes a rain guarantee with every rental. If weather makes it unsafe to operate and we cancel or you cancel before delivery, you reschedule to another available date at no additional charge. Your deposit and payment are fully protected. No penalties, no lost money.

Sacramento Seasonal Weather Notes

Summer (June through September): virtually no rain risk, but extreme heat may require shade tents and hydration planning. Fall (October through November): low rain risk in October, increasing in November. Winter (December through February): Sacramento's rainy season with the highest cancellation risk. Spring (March through May): occasional rain in March, mostly clear April through May. Read our party planning guide for seasonal weather details.

Frequently Asked Questions

Event Day Questions

How early does the crew arrive before my event?

We schedule a delivery window that gets the equipment set up before your event starts. The exact window depends on how many units you are renting and the logistics of your venue. A single bounce house for a backyard birthday is typically set up 1 to 2 hours before the party. Multi-unit events at parks or corporate venues may require earlier arrival. Your delivery window is confirmed when you book.

What if I need to change my delivery time?

Call (916) 548-7995 as early as possible. We will do our best to accommodate your updated schedule, subject to our delivery route for that day. Changes within 48 hours of the event may not always be possible.

Do I need to be home when the crew arrives?

Yes. An adult (18+) must be present at the delivery address during setup. Our crew needs someone to confirm the setup location, walk through the safety guidelines, and sign off on the delivery. If you cannot be there, designate another adult to receive the delivery on your behalf.

What if the equipment does not fit in my planned setup area?

Our crew will assess the space when they arrive. If the area is too small, has overhead obstructions, or is not level, the crew will suggest an alternative location on your property. Check the setup dimensions on each product page before event day and measure your planned area. If you are unsure, call us with your dimensions and we will confirm before delivery.

What do I do if the blower stops or the unit starts deflating?

Get all riders out of the unit immediately. Check the blower: is it still plugged in? Has the outlet tripped a breaker? If the blower is running but the unit is deflating, there may be a tear or a connection issue. Call (916) 548-7995 immediately and we will troubleshoot or dispatch a crew member.

Can I extend my rental period on event day?

Extensions are subject to availability and our pickup route for that day. If you think you might want extra time, mention it when you book. Day-of extensions are not always possible since another delivery may be scheduled for the same equipment. Call as early in the day as possible if you want to request an extension.

What happens if the equipment arrives dirty or damaged?

Every unit is vacuumed, hand cleaned, and sanitized with chemicals that kill 99.9% of germs before it arrives at your event. If you notice any issue with equipment condition at delivery, tell the crew immediately. They will address it on the spot. Read our equipment cleaning guide for our full sanitation process.

Do riders need to remove their shoes?

Yes. All riders must remove shoes before entering any inflatable. Shoes can damage the vinyl surface, create trip hazards, and track dirt and debris into the unit. Socks are fine. This rule applies to all ages, all attractions, every event.
